Later, a mistranslation gave it the name “love apple.” It was only in the early 19th century that it first reached Greek soil. Over the course of the evening, we follow its journey across cultures and civilizations, arriving at an ingredient that now feels inseparable from Greek cuisine, yet is far more recent than we tend to assume.
