Some objects do more than adorn the body. They carry myths, symbols, memories and whole ways of seeing the world. For Ilias Lalaounis, jewellery was a form of storytelling. Drawing on civilizations, art, nature and history, he transformed cultural references into gold, silver and stone: not as replicas of the past, but as contemporary objects made to be worn, touched and carried forward. This evening explores that act of translation. How does a symbol become a jewel? How can a fragment of another time find new meaning in the present? And what happens when the story held within an object becomes part of the story of the person who wears it?
